On May 2, the LSU Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering inducted Senior Principal David Sauls into its Hall of Distinction. Each year since 1979, the school has selected two engineers to recognize for their significant contributions to the profession.
“I am so grateful to my family, friends and talented partners for this honor,” Sauls said. “It’s the recognition of achievements we accomplished together as a family, beginning with Capozzoli and now at GeoEngineers.”
Sauls began his career with Louis J. Capozzoli and Associates, a respected engineering firm in Baton Rouge, before eventually joining GeoEngineers when the two companies merged in 2007. His years of geotechnical engineering experience in coastal Louisiana have made him an expert on construction and trenchless technology in soft Gulf Coast soils. Sauls currently serves as GeoEngineers’ Chairman of the Board.
“David Sauls is someone that makes you want to be a better person,” said GeoEngineers CEO Mike Hutchinson. “His induction to the hall is not just a reflection of his expertise, but also his character as a human being. I have been blessed to have his perspective as part of my life.”
