Lindsay Flangas

As COO, Lindsay oversees the daily business necessary to keep GeoEngineers running smoothly. These days, Lindsay considers herself lucky when she can get into the field, but over the course of her career her technical work has focused on Seattle’s downtown development market and earth embankment dam safety work in the Pacific Northwest.

Lindsay was attracted to geotechnical engineering during college because it was more empirical than other engineering disciplines she considered and offered opportunities to work in the field and on construction sites. While completing her graduate degree in geotechnical engineering at the University of Washington in 2002, Lindsay got her first taste of fieldwork as an intern at GeoEngineers. It wasn’t long until the position was permanent, and Lindsay began contributing to award-winning geotechnical work on projects like Olive 8 and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation Headquarters. Over the decades, Lindsay’s hard work and dedication led to increasing leadership responsibility in the company. She is thankful for the many colleagues who supported her growth as a project leader and executive.

“I enjoy being part of the team and collaborating on day-to-day challenges, from coming up with unique solutions to engineering problems to ensuring that the right people are in the right places to get the job done and provide a unique client service experience,” Lindsay says, adding, “I appreciate that GeoEngineers is a small enough firm that it is easy to build relationships with colleagues throughout the organization, but large enough to support a diverse range of skills and expertise to collaborate to solve complex technical challenges.”

Outside of work, Lindsay enjoys getting outdoors with her sons, tinkering in the yard, and conversations and wine with good friends.
