As an experienced environmental compliance professional, Traci knows how to help businesses understand and navigate their environmental responsibilities. She partners with her clients to help them reduce environmental risks and grow their businesses in sustainable and responsible ways.
Traci has more than thirty years of experience as an environmental professional, on both sides of the owner/consultant relationship. She launched her career as an in-house environmental health and safety expert for several industrial companies before moving into transportation. For nearly eight years, Traci managed environmental field operations and created and implemented sustainable environmental programs for one of the largest railroad companies in the United States. In 2019, she transitioned into professional consulting, where she could use her years of experience to help her clients develop their own Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management systems.
“I understand environmental policies and procedures, but it’s also my job to make sure my clients understand how they impact their business,” Traci says. “A lot of my work is educational and focused on a proactive approach. I love creating audit and training programs, explaining the why behind best practices, and helping my clients design and implement strategies to keep their businesses sustainable and environmentally compliant for years to come.”
Traci’s interest in environmental science grew out of her love of animals and the natural world. At one point she planned to become a large animal veterinarian, but as an undergraduate Traci became fascinated with her environmental science and chemistry classes. By pivoting toward a career in environmental science, Traci could help not just individual animals, but entire ecosystems.
Although she skipped a veterinary career, Traci still loves animals—especially horses! She maintains a small horse facility with her herd of American Paint Horses and has shown several of them at National and World Championships.
“I hope to get there again with my three youngsters,” she says.
