The American Society of Professional Engineers (ASCE) Louisiana Section selected Charlie Eustis to receive their prestigious Wall of Fame Award. The award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding lifetime contributions to the civil engineering profession in the Louisiana region. The ASCE inducts four candidates each year who meet this high standard.
This is the latest in a series of ASCE awards for Eustis. In 2009 he received Outstanding Civil Engineer awards from the local Baton Rouge Branch of the ASCE as well as the Louisiana State Chapter. Eustis became a double honoree again in 2013 when both local and state organizations awarded him Lifetime Achievement Awards.
Now retired, Eustis spent 32 years working for GeoEngineers and its local predecessor, Louis J. Capozzoli & Associates in Baton Rouge. His involvement with ASCE stretches back to the 1970s when he began as a student member. During the following years, Charlie held every position at the ASCE Baton Rouge Branch and served as president and board member for the Louisiana Section.
“We’re incredibly proud of Charlie’s long relationship with ASCE and the Louisiana engineering community,” said Principal Geotechnical Engineer Dave Eley. “His years with us have been an incredible benefit to both GeoEngineers and the State of Louisiana, and he deserves these recognitions.”
ASCE announced Eustis’ selection for the Wall of Fame Award at the section’s September luncheon last Thursday. A group of GeoEngineers staff attended the ceremony on Eustis’ behalf.
